The Rutgers SAFETY Clinic (
Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth ™) is a three-hour program that meets the
"Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs" (N.J.A.C. 5:52) and provides partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under the
"Little League Law" (2A:62A-6 et. seq.)
The Township of Springfield requires all coaches in all sports to meet minimum certifications to remain in compliance with township ordinances that were written and designed to promote the safety of the children we coach.

Background/fingerprint check is a requirement to coach any sport in Springfield. Attached are the instructions and form that needs to be completed. Identogo in Cranford is the location closest to Springfield but there may be locations closer to your place of employment in the event your schedule isn't conducive to being able to get to Cranford on a weekday when the facility is open.
